BERALMAR IN THE CURRENT CONTEXT COVID-19 – PART 3

BERALMAR continues to travel through the current context, adapting to changing circumstances.

In the framework of the progressive deconfinement decreed by the authorities, during this month of May the demarcation where the headquarters of BERALMAR is located has entered a new phase that has facilitated the operation of the company in many ways.

The workshop continues to be 100% operational and with a renewed workload that we celebrate, and part of the administration staff has returned to face-to-face work. The sales and technical office departments continue to operate by home office.

Good learning is also obtained from the challenges of the current context, such as that telework is as much or more productive than face-to-face work, that virtual meetings are perfectly functional and surprisingly more orderly and concise than face-to-face, and that technical means that were already available to provide remote technical service, assembly assistance, etc., are very convincing and could save many trips and time in the future, beyond the health crisis. And this crisis will undoubtedly be an accelerator of many technologies that we already had but that we did not take advantage of sufficiently.

In any case, and as we keep on repeating these days, BERALMAR continues to travel through this peculiar context, remaining 100% operational and safe.

THE ECTS MEETS TELEMATICALLY

On May 8, ECTS held a telematic meeting. Initial plans were to hold a meeting on May 15 at the VHV ANLAGEN facilities in Hörstel, Germany, but travel restrictions affecting most members of the group have led to this meeting being postponed to October, and was replaced by a telematic meeting.

The meeting obviously revolved around the COVID-19 pandemic, and how it is affecting the group's markets and members.

On a more positive note, those present gave a virtual but warm welcome to two new members to the group: RIETER-MORANDO and HEMLICH. This contributed to a successful attendance of 27 participants representing 20 member companies, and it was a good way to share with everyone how the pandemic is impacting the operations of each company, as well as the business forecasts in the short and medium term, and the different aids with which each country is supporting its business fabric.

Despite the positive experience of the telematics meeting on May 8, we hope and wish that the next meeting can be held in person as scheduled, since in the case of ECTS meetings there are too many aspects that a telematics meeting cannot replace, beyond the obvious case of the visit to the facilities of the host company.

IMPORTANT ORDER FOR BIOMASS HEAT GENERATORS

BERALMAR is working on a major order for biomass heat generators for Morocco.

The factories MIDABRIQ, MIDIBRIQ and SONABRIQ, from the cities of Midar, Tangier and Nador respectively, and owned by the Salhi family, have placed a simultaneous order for 3 sets of heat generators each consisting of:

  • 1 biomass combustion chamber model CSD/2000.
  • 1 heat exchanger model GB/2000.

Example of a similar set of heat generators in one of the plants of the Salhi family.

Each of these sets will produce up to 2,000,000 kcal/h in the form of clean air at a maximum of 150ºC, from the combustion of biomass, in this case olive pomace, highly available in Morocco. The efficiency of these generators is between 80 and 85%.

It is not the first time that the Salhi family factories purchase combustion solutions from BERALMAR.

We take this opportunity to thank the Salhi family for the trust once again given to BERALMAR.
