A new impulse

The BERALMAR electronic bulletin must be the oldest published in electronic format by a supplier of structural ceramic technology. Published in several languages since 2006, the newsletter has generated more than 700 articles of all kinds with which it has been an efficient, friendly and non-invasive vehicle to share with readers -more than 3,000 friends, clients, suppliers and employees- the pulse of our organization.

After 15 years of being published monthly, the BERALMAR newsletter is now published on a quarterly basis, while it debuts a new headline: BERALMAR PULSE, with which we reaffirm its mission of being the pulse of our organization.

Consistent with the new periodicity, the electronic newsletter has a greater amount of content. We hope the new format will be of everyone’s liking and that it will help give our newsletter a new impulse.

Concern with the prices of CO2 emissions rights

In what must be the decade of great reductions in greenhouse gas emissions, so far this year has been characterized by an increase in the emission price of one ton of CO2 that has stabilized above € 50.

The consequences are not yet fully felt in many cases due to the availability of surplus emissions rights, but they add pressure to find solutions that lower the emissions count.
From BERALMAR we have been informing for a long time about the different solutions available and of immediate application based on the use of renewable energies for thermal consumption, both in the ovens and in the dryers.

Interesting video by Hispalytt

The Spanish brick and tile manufacturer association (HISPALYT) has produced a video promoting the main virtues of ceramic building materials. Virtues that everyone related to the sector know pretty well, but which are sometimes overlooked by other agents of the construction activity (architects, legislators, etc.).

The video, which is only 5 minutes long, goes in a clear and didactic way over the reasons why ceramic construction materials are increasingly sustainable in all senses: environmentally, economically and socially, and as members of HISPALYT we want to put it available to everyone to give it maximum diffusion and to serve as one more resource for the defence of these materials.

Roadmap towards neutrality in Germany

Across Europe, CO2 emissions must be reduced by 55% in 2030 compared to 1990 levels, while the goal is neutrality by 2050.

Last March the German association of brick and tile manufacturers (Bundesverband der Deutschen Ziegelindustrie) presented its roadmap to achieve these ambitious goals.
The roadmap is based on two milestones:
  • On the one hand, increase the efficiency of manufacturing processes to reduce energy consumption by 50%.
  • On the other hand, the remaining consumption would be approximately of:
    • 38% hydrogen
    • 54% green power.
    • 8% biomass.
This roadmap is therefore a long-term commitment to hydrogen, one of the great solutions where the industry in general and many states in Europe are pinning their hopes.

Publication of the roadmap towards the neutrality of the German ceramic industry.
Aware of this path that many states want to take, and faithful to the tradition of responding to all types of available fuels, BERALMAR is already working on prototypes of hydrogen burners developed for application in our sector.

Beralmar en la 2ª feria virtual del ECTS

After the success of the first edition of the virtual fair promoted by ECTS (the association that brings together the main suppliers of European ceramic technology) with the support of CERAMITEC and MESSE MÜNCHEN, which took place in October 2020, and aware that the face-to-face fairs in our sector will not yet take place this year, the ECTS will hold a new edition between June 22 and 24..
This edition will once again have the support of CERAMITEC and MESSE MÜNCHEN, and will have a main novelty compared to the first edition: a section called INNOVATION CENTER, where exhibitors will present real technological innovations that will constitute a true public presentation of relevant innovations.

BERALMAR will not miss the appointment, and will have something to present at the INNOVATION CENTER as well.

Visitors can now register here:

New combustion chamber with mobile grill

BERALMAR has launched a new type of solid fuel combustion chamber, the model CGM/6000 chamber.

The new combustion chamber is characterized by the vertical feeding of the solid fuel, and its subsequent combustion on a mobile grate, which automatically accumulates the ashes and facilitates its automated evacuation.

The new CGM/6000 mobile grate combustion chamber has a maximum power of 6,000,000 kcal/h (about 7,000 kW), works with biomass and has been installed in an alfalfa dryer.

This new combustion chamber model is added to the wide range of solutions for the generation of hot air that BERALMAR offers. Specifically, it is one more solution for decarbonisation since it is designed to consume biomass.

Gas burner order increase

We want to highlight that BERALMAR has received in recent months a higher than usual volume of orders for gas burners, with equipment being manufactured for customers among others from Argentina, Spain, France, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Peru, Portugal, etc., as well as for non-ceramic sectors.

BERALMAR has been manufacturing gas burners for 50 years, and it is an activity that continues to be one of the company's great specialties, with a wide range of solutions based on these product families:
  • High-speed gas burners.
  • Injectors of continuous impulsion.
  • Injectors of variable impulsion.
  • Dual burners of natural gas and biogas/LPG/synthesis gas.
  • Air vein burners for dryers and other applications.
In addition, BERALMAR has an intermittent test furnace at its facilities in Terrassa for quality tests prior to shipping all types of gas equipment: burners for kilns and for dryers.
