BERALMAR IN THE CURRENT CONTEXT COVID-19 – PART 2

After 4 weeks without activity, BERALMAR workshops have resumed production on Tuesday, April 14.

Following the progressive deconfinement regulations, the administration and purchasing departments have also resumed their activity at BERALMAR facilities, while for the moment the technical office and the commercial department will continue to operate by home office.

In this way, BERALMAR has passed the hardest phase of confinement, stopping only the production of the workshop. As we had informed customers, at all times the delivery time of any new order has been maintained in the usual 3 months.

We do hope and wish that the authorities have defined the new measures correctly, and that we can all gradually return to our normal lives.

Meanwhile, BERALMAR remains 100% safe and operational!

A CERTAIN OPTIMISM FOR THE CONSTRUCTION SECTOR

The current health crisis that, as expected, is evolving into an economic crisis, is generating all kinds of alarm signals, although the forecasts are very different depending on the sector. Obviously, this crisis will not affect the aeronautical sector in the same way as online commerce, to give two antagonistic examples.

The risk assessment firm Moody's has produced the heat map that we share below, grouping the main economic sectors into three categories according to low, moderate and high risk exposure levels.

The construction sector and its materials have been classified as a sector with a low level of exposure, along with the defense industry, packaging, telecoms, etc.

A low level of exposure should not be confused with a positive impact of this economic and health crisis. The message is rather that despite being also hit by this crisis, the construction sector and its materials will not be by far among the most affected.

Those of us who work on it should to contribute to the best of our ability to make this happen, so that our industry can be restored to normal levels as soon as possible.

NEW SETTING AND DEHACKING LINE FOR THE NEXE GROUP

BERALMAR has supplied a setting and dehacking line for the NEXE GROUP, specifically for the IGM STRAŽILOVO block plant that the group based in Croatia has in Sremski Karlovci (Serbia).

Although BERALMAR has supplied different solutions in the field of combustion and drying and firiing processes for several NEXE GROUP plants, this equipment are the first mechanisms that this client acquires from BERALMAR.

The supply consists of:

  • Setting line with robots.
  • Dehacking line with robots, with programming of layers for the packaging.
  • Packaging: configuration of final packs.
The control screens are intuitive and easy to learn to manage, as BERALMAR has been doing lately with its mechanism solutions. This is an increasingly important point due to the increased turnover of production personnel in factories.

The commissioning of these equipment has been affected by travel restrictions caused by the Covid-19, but it will still proceed through online support: on the one hand, there will be remote access and control of the PLC through TeamViewer, and on the other hand video cameras have been installed at various points in order to be able to monitor live the results of changes in the program control configuration.

This online start-up experience, which obviously would not be possible without the customer having sufficiently qualified and competent personnel, will be a learning experience from this this health crisis and that will undoubtedly be useful to BERALMAR much further.

We appreciate again the trust in BERALMAR deposited by the NEXE GROUP, hoping that these are the first of many handling solutions that BERALMAR supplies to the group's plants.
