Ceramics Industry
HUGELY SUCCESSFUL ECTS CERAMICS SYMPOSIUMS IN LIMA AND BOGOTÁ

ECTS, the working group comprising the main European suppliers in the ceramics industry, held two ceramic symposiums on October 6 and 9 in Lima (Peru) and Bogotá (Colombia) respectively.

The symposiums were a success in terms of attendance, with more than 80 participants registered in Lima and about 120 in Bogotá.

There was also a high degree of satisfaction among the European speakers regarding the new format consisting of technical-commercial presentations during the first part of the event, and B2B meetings during the second part after lunch.

Both in Lima and Bogotá, ECTS members were able to learn firsthand the main concerns and common and individual needs of local ceramists and propose solutions.

For BERALMAR both events served to make new contacts in markets that it has been serving for many years.

We hope that this symposium has also helped to reinforce the idea among local ceramists of the need to invest in new production technologies and to introduce new formats to cope with the emergence of alternative construction materials.

ECTS MEETS IN BARCELONA

ECTS, the group that brings together the main suppliers of ceramics technology in Europe, met on October 20 in Barcelona, at the joint invitation of TALLERES FELIPE VERDÉS and BERALMAR TECNOLOGIC.

As is traditional in these meetings, the day before the meeting was used for a group visit to the two host companies, where participants had the opportunity to get to know the inner workings of the VERDÉS and BERALMAR workshops and the facilities.

The day ended with a lively brotherhood dinner in front of the beach of Barceloneta.

At the meeting on October 20, several agenda items were discussed, among which was the approval of the new symposium format, which was premiered at the beginning of the month in Lima and Bogotá.

The next ECTS meeting will take place in Munich (Germany) on April 9, taking advantage of the fact that the new edition of CERAMITEC starts the next day in the city.

A DELEGATION FROM KERAMTEX VISITS BERALMAR

On October 9 BERALMAR received a visit from a delegation of Russian ceramists on a trip organized by KERAMTEX, the association of Russian ceramists.

This delegation had travelled to Barcelona with the aim of visiting some of the many suppliers concentrated around the Catalan capital and obviously couldn’t pass up the opportunity to visit BERALMAR, with whom there is a good mutual understanding due to the projects supplied by BERALMAR in Russia and due to BERALMAR’s participation in the conferences that KERAMTEX organizes annually.

It was a pleasant meeting and was used to share with the visitors some of the latest projects that BERALMAR is carrying out around the world.

NEW ADDITION TO THE BERALMAR TECHNICAL OFFICE

BERALMAR has just incorporated José Santiago Guallarte to the Technical Office of kilns and dryers.

José was born in Lleida 50 years ago, is a chemical engineer who graduated from Huesca Polytechnic University, and has accumulated a great deal of experience over almost 20 years in the management of kilns and dryers.

We wish him a quick integration to the BERALMAR technical team.
