ECTS MEETS IN SMYRNA (TURKEY)

BERALMAR, PRESENT AT THE ANNUAL SOUTH AFRICAN CERAMISTS MEETING

On 23 May the ECTS, the working group comprising the main European suppliers in the ceramics industry, met in Smyrna (Turkey), a modern metropolis on the shores of the Aegean Sea, with MAK-SAN as its host.

The meeting began the day before with a visit to the MAK-SAN facilities, followed by the traditional and lively brotherhood dinner.

One of the points most worked on at the meeting was the organization of ceramics symposiums all over the world, a task the ECTS began some time ago, having already held them in India, Bangladesh, Iran and Turkey and which it aims to extend even further. These symposiums not only seek to bring the ceramics industry in some markets closer to European technology providers, but also aims to promote the virtues of ceramic building materials to the authorities, builders, architects, etc., in the face of the appearance of alternative building materials.

The next meeting of the ECTS will be held in Barcelona at the joint invitation of TALLERES VERDÉS and BERALMAR on 20 October 2017.

BERALMAR's sales department has just welcomed Rafael Andrés (44).

Rafael, who graduated as an industrial engineer from Zaragoza University, has considerable experience in the ceramics industry, having formed part of the ceramics division of the URALITA group and as Managing Director of the Cataluña Ceramicists Guild.

Rafael joins us mainly to provide services to our Latin-American customers. With his experience, we are sure his work will be well received by our customers.

We wish him a quick integration to the BERALMAR team!

BERALMAR took part last 13 May in the annual meeting of the CBA (Clay Brick Association), the South African brick manufacturers' association, held in Cape Town.

BERALMAR, apart from being a member of this association sponsored the event and gave a presentation, by Miquel Moix, on various proposals to modernize and mechanize brick production in this southern-hemisphere country.

BERALMAR has supplied a variety of firing facilities for a number of ceramics companies in South Africa and is well aware of the needs of the country's ceramics industry.

The day, very well organized as always, ended with a gala dinner at the Cape Town aquarium.
