NEW GENERAL SECRETARY OF ECTS

Since January, Christoph Danner has been the new general secretary of ECTS, replacing Alessandro Colucci.

Christoph (34) holds a degree in history and sociology from Heidelberg University and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and is fluent in German, English and Spanish. Having lived and worked for many years in South America, Christoph has a strong sense of interculturality, which will surely be of great use to him in his new position at the head of a group such as ECTS.

We had the opportunity to meet him during a recent visit to BERALMAR, during which he made a very good impression.

We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Christoph on his new position. We are confident that he will be of great help to ECTS in achieving their goals.

CONCLUSIONS FROM THE BIG 5 SAUDI 2016 FAIR

BERALMAR took part in The Big 5 Saudi fair, held in Jeddah from 7 to 10 March.

It was a good opportunity to strengthen relationships with well-known ceramists in the Saudi market, which offers great potential.

CONCLUSIONS FROM THE 2016 INDIAN CERAMICS FAIR

As promised, BERALMAR took part in the INDIAN CERAMICS fair at the beginning of March in Ahmedabad (India).

Having participated in the fair for several years in a row, the BERALMAR team has found that the visitor profile continues to improve each year: more professional visitors, with clearer ideas about their concerns and the dialogue they wish to have with each delegation.

It’s clear that the Indian ceramists and the European providers that have served their market for years share greater mutual knowledge and stronger relationships.

Nevertheless, it must be noted that in spite of remarkable improvement in the organization of the fair, there is still room for more regarding the quality of the stands, the furniture available, and the fair image and services in general. We trust these aspects will be improved in future editions.

In any case, we will definitely see you there in 2017.

CONCLUSIONS FROM THE CERAMICS SYMPOSIUM IN DHAKA (BANGLADESH)

The ECTS (European Ceramic Technology Supplier) organized a ceramics symposium on 7 March in Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, titled "European Technology Suppliers: Helping Bangladesh Improve Quality & Resource Efficiency of Its Brick Sector".

The event was a success as more than 85 registered delegates attended.

BERALMAR took part in the symposium with a presentation on technologies applicable to the Bengali ceramics industry by Jordi Castellà, BERALMAR area manager for the Indian subcontinent.

NEW BIOMASS HEAT GENERATORS IN MOROCCO

BERALMAR has supplied a new clean hot air generation system to Morocco burning biomass.

The equipment was installed at BRIQUETERIE MIDIBRIQ in Tangiers and included a CSD/1500 direct flame combustion chamber and a GB/1500 heat exchanger. The machines will be coupled to provide a maximum output of 1,500,000 kcal/h in the form of clean hot air at a maximum temperature of 150 °C.

Olive pomace, left over from the olive oil pressing process, will be used as fuel. Available in large quantities in Morocco, the use of olive pomace rather than fuel-oil achieves considerable savings for Moroccan ceramics plants.
