OPENING OF THE EKOKLINKER PLANT IN RUSSIA

As we reported, BERALMAR took part in THE BIG 5 DUBAI FAIR from 23 to 26 November.

THE BIG 5 DUBAI is the most significant general construction fair in the Near East, with around 3,000 exhibitors from over 90 countries.

In spite of the fact that Dubai and the rest of the Arab Emirates are not producers of ceramic construction materials due to the lack of clay, this fair attracts visitors not just from all over the Near East, but also from the Indian Subcontinent, which meant that BERALMAR was able to make contacts from, above all, Saudi Arabia, Iran, India and Pakistan.

According to rumour, the 2016 edition of the fair is likely to create a space for the red ceramic industry, which could increase the number of exhibitors and visitors from our sector, although with a great deal of growth potential.

BERALMAR has been collaborating with the Terrassa-based business school EUNCET for some time and had no hesitation in collaborating again when they held the EUNCET-BUSINESS Congress; an event where students and former students of the university could network with companies from around the Catalan city seeking talent.

The Congress was based on two activities:

- A round table with four Human Resources Directors as speakers – Miquel Pairó from BERALMAR, accompanied by those from Banc Sabadell, Mutua Terrassa and IMC Toys – talking about what companies look for in new professionals and other matters of interest.

- Talent Speed Networking between companies and students/former students led by Rosaura Alastruey as facilitator and organizer. This is a form of personnel selection consisting of ninety second interviews, in which the candidate introduces him- or herself and explains their talents.

The EUNCET Business School is a centre attached to the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya / BarcelonaTech.

The official opening of the new EKOKLINKER face brick and paving plant in Novocheboksarsk (Chuvash Republic, Russia), a project we reported on through this medium in February 2014, took place on 17 November. http://www.beralmar.com/en/news/show/id/50.

The opening ceremony was attended by several local authorities, Aleksandr Krasnov, Yevgeni Krascov and Yuriy Leonidovich from EKOKLINKER and Ramon Sarió, BERALMAR’s Managing Director, with a significant presence of the local media.

The start-up of the 30 million part per year production line was a success and BERALMAR’s supply for this new line can be summarised as:

- MESTRAL model semi-continuous dryer, with travelling (start of dryer) and fixed conical recirculation fans.

- FORNTHERMIC model kiln, especially built for regular firing temperatures of up to 1,200ºC, fitted with natural gas combustion equipment.

- Automation equipment for cutting (multiple cutters with 4-sided bevelling), dryer loading and unloading with slats, car stacking and destacking in the form of four robots and for car movement.

The material produced by EKOKLINKER on this new line is the top quality clinker produced formats in Russia, which will reduce imports of this type to the country.
