CERAMIC INDUSTRY SUPPLIERS MEET IN ROME

The ECTS (European Ceramic Technology Suppliers) association, which unites the major European ceramic industry suppliers, including BERALMAR, met in Rome on the 8th and 9th of November.

The ECTS meets twice a year and its major aims include developing common perspectives on various issues, promoting a greater mutual understanding and benefiting from synergies between group members.

A new group President, C.A. de Barbuat (Ceric), was appointed at the Rome meeting, following the three year presidency of Milan Percic (De Boer Machines) and new additions were announced, taking the total number of members to over twenty.

The next meeting of the ECTS will take place in May 2008 in Amsterdam or Barcelona.

BERALMAR AT THE MOSBUILD 2008 EXHIBITION

BERALMAR will attend the MOSBUILD 2008 exhibition to be held from the 1st to the 4th April at the Expocentr exhibition hall in the Russian capital.

The BERALMAR stand will be located in pavilion 5, home of the Technoceramica exhibition, dedicated to equipment and technology for the ceramics industry.

Construction, like the economy in general in the Russian Federation, is experiencing a surge, which is causing the demand for construction materials to exceed the country’s production capacity.

We hope to see you at the Moscow Expocentr. Do svidaniya!

NEW ADDITION TO THE COMMERCIAL DEPARTMENT

It is our pleasure to announce the addition of Wifred Latorre (33), who joined BERALMAR’s Commercial Department on 19th November.

Wifred Latorre is no newcomer to the ceramics industry. His role at BERALMAR will be to strengthen the Portuguese market. BERALMAR has a long history in Portugal, particularly in the area of installing firing equipment.

We wish Wifred every success and hope he quickly settles into the BERALMAR team.

News and Achievements
START-UP OF THE NEW ALONSO CERAMICS FACTORY

BERALMAR is currently starting up CERÁMICAS ALONSO’s new factory, the group’s fourth, in Ayelo de Rugat (Valencia) which will have a production of 350 tonnes/day of 100x250x38 tongue and groove and other pieces.

The new installation has a LLEVANT truck-mounted, green load dryer, composed of two tunnels parallel to and the same length as the kiln. This type of dryer is very efficient and allows you to dispense with a great number of automatisms.

The kiln, which is 106 metres long, is a PRESTHERMIC model, totally airtight with great energy efficiency. The principal fuel used in this installation is natural gas.

It should be noted that, from the very beginning of this process, the material from the first truck to leave the kiln was already marketable, that is to say, there have been no breakages during the start-up of production of such a delicate and difficult piece as the metro tongue and groove.
