• ANALYSIS OF UNSOLD NEW HOUSING IN SPAIN

Towards the end of June, the number unsold new homes in Spain was still quite high: 687,523 homes. Second-hand housing should also be kept in mind to complete the picture of the current housing supply.

Given the disparity of population in each region, the following chart shows regions ranked in order by new homes for sale for every 1,000 inhabitants. Geographically, the bulk of this stock relative to the population is concentrated in the centre and southeast of the country, along with the Canary Islands and Balearic Islands, while northern Spain shows more modest concentrations of new homes.

• BERALMAR HOLIDAY SCHEDULE

As is customary in southern Europe, most of BERALMAR's workforce will be on holiday during the month of August. For this reason, we inform our customers, suppliers and friends that during the month of August activity at the BERALMAR facilities in Terrassa will follow this schedule:

- Week 32 (1-7 August) Low activity:→ approximately 20% of the workforce.

- Week 33 and 34 (8-21 August) Minimal activity:→ customer service hotline and supply of urgent spares.

- Week 35 (22-28 August) Low activity:→ approximately 20% of the workforce.

We apologise for any inconvenience that this winding down may cause. Starting Monday, August 29, BERALMAR will return to normal levels of activity.

• COMMISSIONING OF A TUNNEL KILN IN MOROCCO

BERALMAR has just commissioned a tunnel kiln in Morocco. This is the second kiln for BRIQUETERIE SLAOUI in Salé, near Rabat (Morocco), which was built some years ago but never fitted and put into operation.

In this project, BERALMAR has modified the pre-kiln and a few metres surrounding the pre-heating area, and has equipped the kiln with:

- Ventilation.

- Fuel oil firing equipment

- Recirculation and lateral air injection.

- MICROBER-I automatic management system for the firing process

- New hot air recovery system for the dryer.



The kiln has been launched successfully and in just a few days it has reached a production of 560 tonnes/day of high-quality bricks and very satisfactory energy consumption.
