CORPORATE
BERALMAR EARNS TOP BUSINESS RISK RATING

In our April 2007 Newsletter we reported that INFORMA DUN & BRADSTREET S.A., a subsidiary consultancy firm of CESCE (Spain’s benchmark group in risk management), which specialises in providing commercial and financial information, had awarded BERALMAR top score under its Risk Indicator on examining Spain’s top 25,000 companies.
Based on over 30 indicators, such as year of incorporation, defaults, sales, profit, net worth, etc., INFORMA D&B assesses the risk of leading Spanish companies, scoring them from 1 to 4 according to risk indicators:

Indicator

Risk Level

1

Minimum risk

2

Low risk

3

Above-average risk

4

High risk

BERALMAR has once again been awarded Indicator 1 under this scale, literally interpreted as "Commercial transactions can be entered into with the company. If need be, long-term payment can be granted."

Just two per cent of assessed companies have achieved the top risk indicator, highlighting BERALMAR’s excellent financial and commercial health.

BERALMAR PRESENTATION IN POLAND

BERALMAR is due to give a technical presentation in Poland at the annual meeting of the Association of Polish Ceramists (ZPCBiS), to be held in Warsaw on 15 and 16 May.

BERALMAR’s presentation focuses on engineering projects, with emphasis on fuel-efficient, easy to operate drying and firing facilities.

Following many years with close ties to the country, BERALMAR is very familiar with the Polish ceramics industry and its needs. We hope the attendees will find the presentation interesting.

News and Features
NEW SOLID-FUEL FIRING FACILITY IN OPERATION IN POLAND

Under the News and Features section, we highlight that a new solid-fuel firing facility has come on line at a ceramics works near Warsaw, Poland.

This involves a PROMATIC facility that dries, micronises and injects mineral coal for the firing section in a kiln producing some 400 Tn of heat bricks per day. The kiln is preheated using natural gas, and quality of firing by combining both fuels is a great improvement on the previous system, which relied on a natural gas/fuel oil combination.

Poland has a wide variety of locally mined mineral coals, some of them with ideal properties for the ceramics industry. Availability of the right technology and differing fuel prices make these facilities very cost effective as they can respond instantly to increases in other fuel prices.

In the next few weeks, BERALMAR will commission a further solid-fuel firing installation in Poland.
